Not dunking on anyone here, but does anyone else find Mastodon horribly slow?
I click through to threads every now and then, usually a random instance, and then have to wait 10 seconds for the server to reload.
I know Australian internet is bad, but it isn't this bad. Not sure if its just under-speced servers, load issues, or otherwise.

@boyter Since the Twitter people arrived, popular threads have become huge. I guess the software was never really tested with that in mind.
Why is it faster while browsing anonymously as opposed to browsing from your account? Probably due to the filters, mutes, blocks, etc., that are being applied. I suppose that's the bottleneck.
Sadly I don't know Ruby well enough to help out there.
