Every so often I install Ubuntu.
Then wonder what I should do next

Install Fedora.

Can't say about Mac.
@Anjoria yes, I've used Linux intermittently over past 15 years, as my main one for 2. However 2 mission critical apps are non Linux compatible which rules it out from replacing Windows 10 (which I'm happy with)
As for the gilded cage of the cult of Mac, No thanks
