First part... for the reach and interaction maybe it seems like a good idea but not sure how tangible / measurable / worthy it is - on my side - something a bit more concrete than your sentiments (which are good but might be time to move on and even unwanted after 'we got the message' and more your thing)... so priority and measurable worth on my side is in the 1st things first. Do 1st core part then move on and consider what to keep going.

I imagine all of us have this ordering thing inside where we weigh the list and as we are talking we occasionally are rearranging the top 10 values or even own habits to realised "maybe it's my own knee jerk reaction and not know what else to do rather than measurable worth" and "isn't being done maybe over-done too?"

The perceived values are not matching what we think or they change after initial 'youtube is bad' think - no youtube is good for those that want and it's just for you sometimes to get over :)
and not trying to over-do 'for them' :)

We can check and promote things higher or lower for the final outcomes to fit - in my case "it's more my thing than theirs after telling them 10 times and seeing everyone else also"
Maybe if I saw it less than I'd do it less but using youtube.com doesn't work in this logic / my logic to gain much.
(always an the onion skin to consider and compare but concretely no usage is more sure winner, again my mind or practice of it)

If you're using it, and Twitter and reasoning like that if you do it more than one way or make a habit like that) then I feel it like it's a leaning tree of return- kinda has to be straight and also NOT needing to use others to justify using bad things. Your reasoning may avoid what as teacher I had to leave alone and come back to later... why because basically THEY KNOW ! They even choose opposite because of you or don't care about youtube and google - REALLY ALL OF IT .... so *mainly* without big drama about it it's something to throttle if you are in control I think people need to see proof others are using it (and not)... not something what looks the same... (I wouldn't be able to tell looking at your profile quickly or in reasonable time)

Again in my head media is hyper now and messages are hyper-speed and 10 people everywhere saying about how bad google is even enough etc... people they know and are not ready or need time - better is focus on you and from that do other things unless you can really measure converting people in this by using the same links as them :)

But also no need over-extend yourself in trying to help others 'for them' or for reaching them. They know.

In my mind- I do my bit leave a decent link, move on, MANY don't get it and it's not productive to over-try like this (perhaps)

So solutions are almost always something different and simply *trying* to limit damage or filter or buffer it... never copying it to that level or wanting to mimic it 100%, to expect embeds from youtube in peertube (slaps face)

we have to expect le$$ and want to leave bad people, tech commerce alone and not mix it up (even the most neutral link I think would be a danger with API's etc)... Have to get used to less because it's all political or devils work in what it took to get there / here / everywhere now we know it and have to start almost from scratch or be happy PeerTube even exists :) (again I don't even use that a lot and some gave me a sickening amount of space - just not much technical sense and rewards in things now- best I can do is not use them (or little) and make everything count a bit more than shotgunning things)

Basically my own logic is that youtube as a thing shouldn't exist IF we are moral or honest or ecological or careful about the chains in methods. A lot we don't see I'm sure you know / can guess what even if coming relative to all this... behind closed doors and just the corporate people in general - they use everything so this paragraph is the kind of 'don't fucking touch it' rule :D
Maybe the if we increase the DIY homegrown ways yes we'll get to something similar but we are never going to want to keep up or be so unhumble in tech and I question everyone's usage (it too easy now and choosing which move and audio had it's value before)- Gotta let it go a bit or be dragged into saving this that might not need!

I'm sure expecting same-same- or better is not going to happen (physically / morally) above a certain limit of success, it's not going to get that level of comfort / preference - it's us who need to accept how we can't use geologically the energy and hardware whatever (sound like a tree hugger!) and then after see what others do. We got to this level of luxury or misdirection and just standing down from that is most of the work -

the acceptance is "now we know" and "we can't lie to ourselves or think promoting it is going to undo it"

So I'm with you for the most part but that 2nd paragraph was a bit of a long shot in expectation even impossibly or paradoxical. Again no drama in this.

And the other point, fair play to be liberal and let people make educated decision but the education IS your side in presentation also....and then for others to then realise from that- like practise what you preach a bit... so I tend to prefer doing it the humblest way on my side *and then* others to learn or even load it up in youtube if they consciously want to the youtube.com link :) So the method is also the education at the same time.

There's a clear representation and divide having one way or another... so you mention force and I'm not sure linking safely does that but by default if it's forcing them from your own morals to use safer ways by force yes to give in that way (and like I said they can always load it up in youtube as countering that)

Fair enough you want to be bridge but also in the process your being xyz'd being there...
