@levisan I think that isn't far off it's usage where it's become so mainstream, use, embedded that it's become multi-use like a brand that means what it was first known for or broke through the market with / monopolised... for example "Can you Hoover than for me?" where Hoover (Vaccum) is similar to saying Google (Search)
Did I get a trophy for that 🏆 :D 🏆 ?
@freeschool I agree that it isn't too far off (same with Zipper and Elevator) but I think in this case it isn't fair. A non-Hoover vaccum does the job of a Hoover, but a non-Google search engine isn't going to give the same results, so I think one should be specific about which search they want.
@freeschool I set my default to DuckDuckGo because I like their "bangs" but SearX comes up with good results quite often
@levisan Yep SearX.org for the way...
and as usual I don't value search engines by results only, but by the way it gets results done as a bit more of a priority
(i.e. If searx.org is nicer to world then I don't mind scrolling longer to find exactly what I want, versus Google predicting what I wanted using unwanted ways)...
The longer way or taking high road is worth the reasoning.
