See me? The lady in the Tesla turning left from Central onto Hamilton in Campbell apparently couldn’t. Or she thought that as a Tesla, she had right of way when turning left on a green when no other vehicle would.
Jesus Christ, I almost got taken out by another Tesla this morning. Broad daylight, flashing lights, neon helmet and jacket, tall bike, riding in a green bike lane. Tesla tried to turn through me. I swear my instinct to scream, loudly, when I perceive a threat is the only reason I’m still standing. I hope the driver is shaking as hard as I was, whether from the close call or me shouting at her.
Tesla drivers have been auto driving. I wouldn't trust a Tesla with a 2 blok pole as a pedestrian.
At the current rate, Teslas will kill more bicyclists than regular hit n runs.
Piece of advice as a biker- put Air Tags somewhere in/on the frame of your bike- not in the seat or tires.
@lorihc Glad you’re okay.
@lorihc those damn Teslas. If it’s not the crappy “auto pilot” system it’s the damn cocky driver. 😤😡🤬 I’d say “be safe out there” but seems like you’re already doing all you can. :-/
@lorihc damn!! They’re a menace. Good to hear you managed to scream loud enough to stop her!!
@lorihc glad you’re only shaken up
@lorihc Glad you are ok!! Tesla’s really miss having the blind spot light near the mirrors.. and ultrasonic sensors to make them work properly.
@lorihc Ugh, I’m sorry that happened to you. I hope you’re okay. I walk a lot and have similar encounters with drivers (doesn’t matter to them I’m in a crosswalk) who either aren’t paying attention or simply do not care. It’s baffling. People are so eager to shave ten seconds off their commute they don’t care about hitting someone in the process. Anyway, I hope your biking experience greatly improves this week!
Still mad about this. I screamed and stopped because it was the logical thing to do to stay alive, but instead of giving me the “oh! sorry!” and waiting for me to carry on, she looked me in the eye and turned in front of me anyway. F*** You.
