both are technically correct. Though 'regal' is closer to 'kingly' and 'magnificent' whereas regius is relatively ~bland~ and simplifies to 'royal'. This is a good testimony to context-sensitivity and how a person and easily mis-potray themselves in a full-latin-speaking society by choosing the wrong word(s).
