I use but wish they would get their internal drama dealt with and not get stirred up with all this political he-said-she-said stuff that makes package maintainers leave.

There _is_ such a thing as trying _too hard_ to make everyone happy. Focus on the cut n dry- not muddle with the foggy, indiscernible conspiracies.

@lucifargundam
Do you mean also the gossip type stuff or more specifically recent events / past ones
and to add to that or separately: Don't all of them have that / All guilty of talking like as the norm
(I don't mean it's right but perhaps a social thing or you think it's specific with Debian that there is a lot more)

I don't recall all of them offhand, but the last one I remember looking into involved someone getting kicked off the project altogether because of an anonymous accusation without evidence about misconduct. The decision was made privately between just a few people.

These days I try to ignore my distros politics. I know it exists, but I can't support its inner workings.

Welcome to the long-road to solving things... sorting out how people do things (their own politics within others often coming out at wrong time or just not tested enough)

If basically what you said is true (loosely of course there is more) then that is something to look at and often the way it's look at is important... like takes time, energy etc... mostly which techies may care 0 about and rather cut the code off / start again (kick people)!

I've personally had 0 reasons given for forum kicks (of course I didn't let it go lol) but shows also not many are there to defend or priorities work or other things more than understand (seems so but Techies can be hot-tempered... binary maybe.... expecting computers for people.... ok please don't kill me dear reader!)...

But yeah but from what you wrote what stands out is
- making everyone happy thing people (which can be + / -)
- discrimination
- quick-disconnects as unskilled human work / also known as ungraceful disconnects perhaps
/ easy fixes to 'get rid' of the problem (works socially as people think it's over but didn't solve the case or way it's done which they might find out next !)

Maybe you could compile a bit a list or somehow be part of that as sounds like you have good head on shoulder (and maybe some interesting respiratory apparatus on your head as show by your avatar!) :D

Basically the less calculated stuff or homework people don't do add up into 2+2 = the wrong 4 (or wrong outcome since the 2's are not the same despite looking numerically like / represented as 2's by various people / opinions / gossip / bias / not talking to each other etc).
