@trinsec
Is there anyway to listen(or feel) music for people with hearing loss?

@mur2501 Sure? There are a lot of deaf people enjoying music. The thing they can't do is listening to lyrics, or feeling the high tunes (guitars, violin, singing, etc).

The other day I helped my boss figure out which music pieces to use for the theater play at the school I work on. I just put my hand on the speaker.

@trinsec Well the thing is I compose music, and I was thinking I should share it with you (and then the realisation hit) so I asked this.
Any resources on this kind of composition so I can also try it?

@mur2501 Mmm, maybe you can search for 'deaf disco music'. It's usually music with certain clear beats that deaf people dance on. The kind of music usually used in deaf discos (yeah, that exists. Yes, it's loud. Yes, you should wear ear protection if you don't want to join the deaf club. :D)

@trinsec I will stay away from this disco, I already have tinnitus

@mur2501 Probably a smart move. ;) Although good ear protection can do wonders. There are also hearing people visiting deaf discos.

@trinsec You don't need to go to deaf disco here. India, well it's just already very noisy in general :blobfoxheadphones:

@trinsec The kind of noisy where the truck's horn plays Beethoven's Fur Elise in horn sounds :disco_parrot:

@mur2501 I guess that's hard to miss.. even for deaf people!

On the upside, India looks like it's doing a pretty good job to make deaf and hearing people equal. They'll just all end up deaf eventually. 😋

@trinsec
as the official tagline of India's tourism department says 'Incredible India' :coolcat:

@mur2501 Might want to change that later. 'Inaudible India'. 🙉

@mur2501 Woo! Sounds good! You're still studying, right? Is it your third year now?

@trinsec
yeah third year (completed 5 semesters), three more sems to go before I get the engineering degree.
This internship is important cause soon the campus placement will start and I want atleast one thing in the experience section of my resume before seating there.

Campus Placement: Concept exclusive to India where colleges are tied up to companies. The companies have to hire a fixed number of employees from the college every year. Benefit of it for student is that you are only competing with your classmates in the interview.

@undefined @mur2501 That Campus Placement doesn't sound like a bad concept. Kinda guaranteed that every student will have some sort of internship spot at a company.

Here we have to scramble and ask around if there's a company willing to take in a student for a while.

My job doesn't have issues with this as it means extra hands for us. There's a shortage of teachers and teachers' aides, so we can always use some extra help, heh.

Good luck with your internship, and may you learn a lot at the job! I can imagine it'll be helpful for those interviews.

@trinsec it sounds good on paper but isn't in reality.
1. Prestigious Colleges get the better companies

2. Salary offered depends upon your colllege not your skills

3. Students aren't trained for the real job market

@mur2501 Drat, it could've been good.

How 'prestigious' is your college here? And how come students aren't trained for the real job market? Do they have to do stupid stuff like copying papers and making coffee instead? That'd not be acceptable here.

@trinsec
My college is on the bottom of the prestigious ledder. :welp:

The interview and hiring process are very different from normal job search.

@mur2501 The interview and hiring process is just part of it though. It's worthwhile if you can still learn some ropes at the actual 'job' itself.

@trinsec
That is also true, anyway almost everyone leaves there campus placement job in less than one year

@trinsec
You mentioning teachers and school with your job. Last time I know, you were a graphic designer or something. Have you switched job to a school?
