I've seen them around, so presumably there is *some way* to do that, although it might be a bit less efficient than a simple like (I know, I know, I'm thinking of performance, lol).
Quote *might* be coming to Mastodon. I think we have it here on Qoto (it's a fork of Mastodon). But, yeah, that is a useful one.
I think DMs *are* normal posts with a visibility setting set so that only one person can see it. The UI might just hide that detail from you, hehe.

@olives Yeah, it's important to think of performance if you want something scalable.
