Want to help Portland respond to wildfires, heat waves, ice storms, downed power lines, and the looming Cascadia Subduction Zone megaquake?

Free training is resuming for the Portland Neighborhood Emergency Teams (analogous to other cities' Community Emergency Response Teams).

@peterdrake how involved are you with the program?
We're looking to compare numbers. Pre-covid we taught 2 CERT Basic classes a year and each class would have 40+ participants. Since 2021 we are lucky to get 10-12 in a class. (Even the Hybrid classes were small.)

@MsMerope I am a co-leader of a VERY small local team.

The Portland NET program is, as I understand it, one of the largest CERT-like programs in the country. For numbers, try contacting net@portlandoregon.gov.

@peterdrake ah, thanks! I wish we did more neighborhoody type things. We do a lot of fire department support.
