What's more likely to be effective in creating a left-wing government in the USA?

@peterdrake I think both are valid, but we're stuck with a two-party system until a lot more changes, so I would recommend focusing on either the Democratic party or on ways of dismantling the two-party system, which would include things like ranked choice voting, removing the electoral college, and probably a lot of other steps.

@peterdrake Influencing the Republican party is not an option? I doubt we would ever get centrist Dems to move left if their counterpart centrist Republicans do not move left first.

@webbj The bulk of the GOP seems detached from reality at this point. Maybe there's a new roll of the dice after Trump falls, but he's more of a symptom than a cause.

@peterdrake @webbj Yep, the Republicans who were willing to move centrist have already quit (quietly or not) the party. All that's left are the radicals.
