Mojang tries to create and enforce rules regardless of everything. And this is the wrong way to maintain a community.
Luo Xiang, a professor at the China University of Political Science and Law, said, "Some students who are good at law, gradually lose their humanity, and become a robot of the law in the end."
In my humble opinion, the ability to bend the rule is a privilege of human beings. This also applies when I was thinking about how China government matters covid data over the life quality of normal civils.

@skyblond RULES AND LAW: I would say that's the aim (to lose their humanity / reduce it towards funneling it towards profit).
If it was almost any other way it would grow naturally into something else and even re-form itself. This is not what people of command and conquer mentality want to encourage (since war and ages ago capturing territory and people inside it's landmass).
I would agree bending rules are part of human decision making and obviously better if it wasn't so closed more like a prison!
Weighting every situations and individual person is expensive for justice and less penalty would be given... when they see people didn't mean evil or naturally need to do bad to learn what it is anyway. This way the make mon£y from mistakes / young people learning.
To leave people room for exceptions, have more reasoned experiments, give people leeway, add breathing space, and other words... would mean more humanity... but instead going for the ultra-defined codes and rules allows little for people to wander or enjoy... and more control.
This is very similar to 'German efficiency' (potentially triggering phrase but means in positive way how well made things were and their engineering achievement that were world-class / the best)
Imagine ANY efficiency or engineering type of thing (S.T,E,M. included) where the consideration of people is not in the question. This mindset is very culture of some people that we are finding hard to can't escape in rule or money or anything like an ultimatum... and some people know that very well and it works for them...
Then after that any good leaders must have to bend rules or ignore them in order to escape themselves or for their workers, and pretend to the rigid structure that everything is going according to orders to satisfy the infinite greed of the company and it's directors, while feeling like a human.
