Martin Luther initially mistook the Jewish religion for something similar to Catholicism (a distortion of Christianity) but soon realized that it was something far worse and wrote an entire book on it.
@freemo
It's good that reason binds us together.
I hate myself and I know I drink to much but what little grasp I have left on reality I can see we don't disagree so much.
Maybe a year or so from now we can be friends again. I miss that.
@swiley Us not being friends is in your mind not mine. I will call you out when you do something shitty. As long as that isnt being outright hateful or cruel it isnt likely to make me consider you any less of a friend.
Many people think a friend means you defend them and if you get called out someone hates you. Not me. I expect my friends to be brutally honest with me, and they should expect the same.
@freemo Good :)
Then I was very wrong to think we weren't friends.
@swiley yes, but thats ok. I noticed your change in attitude a bit after i first called you out ont he vaccine stuff. Which made me suspect you might have thought so. Glad you know that is not the case.
As someone who is against most forms of censorship I feel that only works if people are honest with eachother and call out shitty things that otherwise people might censor.
Discussions are how we learn and grow, so I expect it from my friends.
@swiley I also want to point out.. as far as I am concerned Jews **are** white people. So if I defend them I'm already proving I would defend white people.
@freemo Jews are very much distinct. That's a whole separate thing thought.
@swiley yes I would, and have.
you havent expressed which views you yourself prescribe to, so its not a problem. As for Luther's views, thats not something I feel a need to pick apart, they stand on their own as his opinion.
Jews can refer to their race (Ashkenazi), their country/government (Israel), or their religion (Jeuadism). Which one you happen to be referring to would depend on context.
