amazing what absolutely trash used cars now cost 10k EUR when formerly 10k EUR got you a new cheap car :ChenShrug:

@kaia Right. But there are a few nice thing about old cars. I bought one recently for 1K EUR., another 1K went into repairs. Now I have a car that was not recycled but repaired and reused. It's over 20 years old, so it's much sturdier than what you can buy now. And the best thing about it – no computers included (except for that tiny one used for fuel injection, but they work forever)

@szescstopni that's really neat, but most old cars don't make emmission standards required for driving into German cities :angry_cirno:

@kaia Correct. Things are going this way in Poland too, and this is OK. When I have to got to a city I take a train and use public transport. Unfortunately living in a forest without a car would be impossible for me.

@szescstopni @kaia I did the same thing, I have a 2004 Mazda 6 that I bought for ~1.2k EUR, spend 1, maybe 2k EUR on repairs and renovation, and it has been driving me for more than the years now. And it's a very capable station wagon, I moved flats with it, went to Spain, transferred trees and bricks, I love that car
