@freemo Mm, here it's said that you should test around the 5th day after a (suspected) infection. Otherwise there's not enough virus for the test to catch.
@trinsec first day i was weakly positive on the antigen test. This is the second day and now it doesnt show up. so it seems its diminishing not increasing.
@freemo For a first day and second day it's all still extremely unreliable. And I've read somewhere from a German study that if you have no symptoms, the quick selftest would be only 15% reliable too. I'm glad it's almost over now if no new variant pops up. :P
@freemo The first test coming back as negative was maybe because it was too early stage and not enough buildup in your throat and nose? Since the 2nd one was positive? Just throwing out ideas there. So you're basically waiting for the 3rd PCR test which would confirm that this is over now?
@trinsec TD = Travelers Diarrhea
Giardia and TD have similar symptoms, mostly diarrhea and stomach pain. Both of these can be symptoms of covid so there is some overlap there. I had the cough of covid and loss of smell so my first guess was covid as it is a closer match (though rarely causes diarrhea as severe as I had). but once covid came back negative I was stuck looking for less likely matches. The loss of smell was partial and lasted only one day so i ruled it out as psychosomatic at which point gardia/TD fit just didnt explain the cough.
