Apparently, Minds is joining the fediverse.

@olives A lot of minds joined the Fediverse.

Unless you're talking about something/someone specific, in that case I don't know them. ;)

@olives Oh? Huh, never heard of it. Got a link handy to it?

@trinsec I think the domain is literally just minds. I don't think it was ever really good though.

@olives So it's just another closed source platform a la Threads or Tumblr to join the Fediverse?

*Shrug* doesn't seem to be that hugely interesting in the grand scheme of things then, but hey, as we say in Dutch: 'hoe meer zielen hoe meer vreugd' (The more souls join, the more joy there is). :)

@trinsec It's one of those "free speech" platforms but then when you actually look at it, it isn't really that free speech, it just uses "free speech" for marketing purposes.

@olives Free speech is such a cheap gimmick imo. You will never really attract the crowds you expect. (Because those kind of people never has learned to work together, so your platform never really can grow that way)

@trinsec Watch how quickly "free speech platforms" flee from sexual content after engaging in First Amendment bluster ;)

For years, they have tended to be worse than Twitter in that area, and Twitter is not exactly the best.
