As I stated when we decided to silence them. They were silenced for en masse harassment and spamming. Dozens of users continually contacting users on our server after blocking someone despite being asked to be left alone. An issue that persisted over days.

We made it clear to the administration that should the moderators policy change to ensure this would not continue to be an issue from them we would be happy to remove the silence.

Should tell you something when our silence list consists of only two servers, one of which is spinster, the other is a single-user instance.

No one is blocking spinster due to the software they are using. While that did get them some unjustified heat and attention if you really think thats the reason then you are naive..

Lets be clear I dont support the decision to block them in the app in the way it is done here. But at least be honest about the reasons. It is almost certainly due to hatred about the pro-TERF environment on spinster or perhaps their track record of engaging in mass harassment of people who disagree with them.

I have to admit, I tend to agree. I relayed Spinster after first seeing this thread and then deleted the relay after a few hours. I couldn't handle it. Toxic, negative, militant, man-hating vibe. I like Alex and I enjoy his Gleasonator site but I don't share his taste in Spinster. I don't agree with the block but I wouldn't be surprised if the reason had nothing to do with the Gab software.

I still wish I could un-relay freespeechextremist but this buggy Pleroma stuff keeps erroring out when I try. I can un-relay any other site but not that one.

I don’t block any instances, but I limit some sites images that might get me into legal trouble and that’s it. What’s the point anyway, it doesn’t stop them from existing or anything, they’ll still say it.

Well I think 2 wave feminist don't want to share there privileges with transgender feminist and Transgender feminist wants those.

Although even if 2 wave feminist agree with Trans feminist, the question will the society let them have those privileges? Will they be treated same as biological women?

My understanding on this topic isn't much so don't take it seriously 😅
