Hello, Hope You are doing good.
I wanted to know about where trending tags are located, they are implemented in mastodon but I can't seem to find them in mobile UI.
@vibhi Love the kitten avatar picture! nice one.
And on your profile, this :
>> ...love to debate on politics(i don't find anyone to debate)
Ooooh. You might get more of that than you thought possible, if you get into one of Freemo's Click Bait threads. Be prepared for hours of non stop action (lol).
Yes, I also fall in love with this kitten pic, hahah those big eyes ❤️🥰😍 cute...
Will try to get into those conversations for sure hhah 😅
@vibhi He will be glad to have new meat on the plate. If you enjoy hellthreads, he's the man!
@design_RG @vibhi Hi! Is that the reason why this catalan bot @tendencia stopped providing hashtags and now gives links instead? Or is that an unrelated issue?

I followed your link, and the bot still uses Hashtags -- the links provided are search results for the tag in their own server.
In some cases, this could be useful -- many places don't keep data for long periods, and a search there might return less results (older posts are no longer in their database).
Snapshot attached -- from this post : https://mastodont.cat/@tendencia/104382097368597113
@design_RG @vibhi Ok, thanks for the clarification. What I meant though, is that Tusky used to open those tags automatically, whereas the link redirects to a browser. It changed the behaviour a week ago, see screenshot.
I see -- I would guess it's possible the person creating the posts has changed their modus operandi.
I can create a post with a Hidden URL just fine at any of my GlitchSocial or Pleroma instances.
Cannot do the same in the vanilla crappy mastodon ones. Which I am tired of and moving away from.
Will reply from my GS account with an example in a sec. Hold on.
OK Thank You for the Info although it's a pretty neat feature.
Will you consider using code from other fork and test it on qoto. Mastodon.host fork has better trending tags and it also works on mobile as well.
@vibhi it would be up to our admin, who is the one maintaining the server, revising and adding code.
The current idea is that we could move to a better platform, non-mastodon. That would bring many advantages including lower hosting costs and higher performance, but it's not a small job for an instance already running and full of patches and added features.
I would just try to move and add these later if possible, but he's the one doing the work, and only person with the skill set for that.
@vibhi Hello, good morning!
Ah, good question -- the problem is that the mastodon base version here has a broken trends system, so I got tired of seeing the same weird ones for months on end and suggested they be turned off. F agreed and did it.
