A nice overview of the Google vs Facebook vs indie Framework battlefield. Personally I go with React because #Clojurescript is so good at it. What is your preference and why?

@writh Was the switch away from webdev a matter of opporttunity, or other reasons? Webdev hits that sweet spot of learning, gratification, and coding for me
@worldsendless I intended to go toward security in the first place. I did a dev bootcamp, thinking I would start in webdev and try to transition into websec. I ended up working as a helpdesk tech for a bit, then transitioned into a sysadmin role. From there I have moved into a security role. It was an organic transition. I am not really doing websec, but I find endpoint security really cool. Its rewarding and I spend a lot of time learning.
@writh that sounds like a terrific success story, worth a "congratulations"
@worldsendless thanks. I’m happy with my career right now. I’ve been in my current position for 18 months and I still feel like a rookie. I’m constantly learning. I also love the team I’m on. They are all super supportive and kind. My boss is so sharp and very protective of the team. Hopefully things will continue to be as good as they have been. How are things at byu? How much longer do you have on your PhD?
@writh I feel much the same about my boss, always representing and defending us. Too bad he's retiring now...
The PhD has been on hold since the onset of the pandemic, when things got overwhelming despite remote work due to massive influx of demands. I am working my way back in to it now, hoping to nail some publications as soon as possible.
@worldsendless I'm sorry to hear that you had to put the PhD on hold. Here's to hoping you can get it back on track soon.
@worldsendless I learned on React. I don't really do any webdev anymore though. I'm basically just doing Infrastructure now. I do miss webdev a bit.
