My account on mastodon.social, and my account on qoto, can search and find @Syberia but my account on mstdn.social cannot. Is that some server blocking, or something else?

@worldsendless Click on the 'about' link on the bottom, many instances have a list of blocked servers there.
(Hint: yes, mstdn.social has suspended that instance)

@trinsec Now I'm trying to find the "bottom" of which you speak

@worldsendless Well, at the main page (before login) was the bottom. But when you're inside, on the left side probably. 'About this server'.

@worldsendless I haven't the slightest what you are on about. Sounds more my husband's cup of tea.

@Syberia turns out that noagendasocial blocks or is blocked by those other servers

@worldsendless even if you share an unpopular opinion, thought and or belief you are allowed to share it. Also you can say what you think or share a truth without being harassed. I have met some amazing people here, made some great online friends and it has enriched my life in general and my husband is here as well. Not certain how to join. I'll ask my husband. He's the smart one. 👍

@worldsendless

A lot of fediverse servers block a pretty large segment of servers that believe in free speech. I may not like what a lot of people say, but I do not necessarily believe they need to be blocked by server admins without a pretty significant reason unless they're running a single user instance. Even then, I think it's not a fantastic idea to do too much of it. Users are welcome to do as they please.

@Syberia

@leyonhjelm @worldsendless I am sorry, I see a difference between deserve and earn. I think as human beings we can earn some things but deserve nothing.

@Syberia @leyonhjelm @worldsendless I heard David Robinson say in an interview, "I don't think anybody deserves anything. It's about what you go out and get." Nailed it. Love it.

@Syberia @leyonhjelm @worldsendless yeah, he's a hip cat. I think it was some interview right after he retired or won a championship or somewhere around then.

@worldsendless @Syberia Depending on the version you can maybe pull block lists from the instance directly.
Though IIRC that only works on mastodon.

Maybe I had it the wrong way around since I got neckbeard.xyz's blocklist from /api/v1/instance, but not mastodon.linuxbox.ninja's.
