It's one of America's urban 'bad areas'. A stretch of street within city limits where you'll encounter drug addicts, homeless and the like. This is common in many major cities and some not-so-major.

Indeed and years of 'experts' highly paid and apparently qualified still have not found a solution or solutions that actually work properly.

@zleap Ah that's sad.. :( Personally I think the "war on drugs" is a huge failure and totally the wrong way to handle it.. What country was it, that instead of locking up users, they're gonna provide "clean shoot-up places" and programs addicts could enter to get a better, drug-free life :)

I live in the Netherlands but we don't have this issue, not on this scale by far.. While some drugs are "gedoogd" here

So wjhat happens if a person is high on say Cannabis (pot) drives a car or ther vehicle and kills or injures someone. ?

I know pot is legal in Holland.

Agreed, in fact some medication can cause problems for drivers,

A good excuse to harmonise the law, DUI + DUI of anything that hinders your ability to drive, it may make the job of the police / courts easier.

Everything that hinders your driving automatically makes you unfit to drive

Also my neighbours are hooked to it it seems and a lot of youth does it behind the wheel since it's not completely illegal (yet)

We have a problem with that here too. just seems odd people want to breath in a gas that can be deadly if not used properly

Then again I had a chemistry set when I was 10 or 11, it said clearly in there about NOT breathing in reactants, I understood that even at 11.

I know CBD oil canbe used to help certain medical conditions, as cannabis is illegal here, those people also suffer unless they can get a special dispensation to import and use it. .

@zleap Oh you're so fucked.. These days the police has a kit to test on cannabis :) You'll get arrested like with alcohol

Agreed, The solution seems much harder, Perhaps it is time legalise some of these drugs. Control the supply properly, strength, concentration etc.

Certainly making things illegal hasn't worked over the past 50+ years.

As with drinking and driving, driving under the influence of drugs should carry harsh sentences esp if people are killed or injured as a result of people not being able to focus on driving due to being under the influence.
