Well not just nuclear. There is wind, solar ,hydrogen,electric and bio fuels that. We can make plastics / polymers from plants, We need investment in chemistry so we can develop new sustainable materials.
@zleap i dont think we can make polymers from plants on the scale that we would need
@valleyforge @zleap given the problems microplastic waste has wrought, you might want to rethink making plastics at all outside of industrial process needs

I think bioplastics are made from plants and simply break down, again perhaps this is another area of research we need.
We need to figure out if the current bioplastic are indeed as safe as the claims are,.
Again more areas of research, the next generation has a lot to keep busy on, just study STEM and help reshape your own future.
