Sounds a good idea to me, btw how do I sign up to Flockingbird ? I can find the website, view some profiles but not sure how to create an account.

What would you want to sign up to? What would you expect it to do for you?
Well looking for an alternative to LinkedIn perhaps @flockingbird can help put OSS projects in touch with people who can help, for either paid or unpaid work. In time as people join then we already have people posting opportunities for Post Doc research.
@flockingbird will serve people not corporate interests surely.
