This will result in MORE regulation for home schoolers, and the issue of incompetent individuals who fail to act properly on concerns will nevr be addressed, the usual soundbites "lessons will be learned"
Perhaps rather than giving these useless managers / social workers promotion, then allowing them to take up other similar jobs, they should be SACKED, stripped of pensions and barred from any positions where the welfare of others is at stake.
It would provide an incentive to others that when it comes to safeguarding it is their job to ACT and not make excuses.
Perhaps reduce the benchmark where people can intervene.

@zleap There was once a sp’ed teacher at my school who was placed on
(paid) administrative leave for a year after hitting a student. At the end of the year, they just moved him to another school. @TruthSandwich
I have worked in schools, one school the regular abuse from a few students resulted in me giving the school an ultimatum, basically said this abuse stops or I will take legal action against the school.
Oddly the LIES about hands being tied, stopped too.
@zleap unfortunately (I speak as someone who is Asian) there is also a racial element and its sometimes possible for parents (particularly in middle class communities) to hide toxic environments behind "model minority" stereotypes and claim its just "strict parenting" when/if the Social Services turn up, they are already overloaded as it is (and frontline staff might not always be backed up by their managers)
