Adult sites don't block content, a lot of them seem to simply have 2 buttons on saying over 18 and the other saying under 18, the onus is then on the site visitor to click truthfully.

Age Verification opens up a whole stack of privacy issues, not to mention all that ID info stored on a server makes it a prime target for criminals wanting to steal information they can use for ID theft.

Also who else has access to that information.

Education works to a point IF the people sitting in the class want to be taught and want to learn and discuss the subject matter.

@zleap google 'Online Safety Act' - they're about to in the UK.

There are also states in the US that are enacting porn block laws.

I am not advocating we block violence in the same way, I am lamenting the double standards at play. I think responsibility for children's online safety should (of course) be supported by ISPs/govt, but ultimately that support should consist of providing tools for *parents and carers* to use to protect their kids.

I agree,l and parents need to be helped to do this, many adults can use a computer but are not technical wizards and do seem to have low confidence.

If they work in say pet grooming for example, then that is their area of expertise. Even a secretary in an office will be good at specific things.

There seems to be a disconnect, of course we can raise kids to respect each other they then watch the news and see adults as hypocrites in that respect.
