Just been reading a LinkedIn thread, mostly women saying how they are treated and ignored on there, and that they are really frustrated with the platform (as are others) Is there a Federated, ActivityPub based alternative? I think there was a few years ago.

We need something so we can network for jobs, careers, training etc.

@Suiseiseki

I think these people are employed and professional and just want to network with others.

BTW also trying to promote courses and training opportunities for Free software etc,

I think the fightback against big tech is gaining momentum.

@zleap That's literally just fedi. Put work-related stuff in your fields or whatever, like the field you want to get into.

There's no point me doing it because there are like three people on all of fedi who live on the same landmass as me.
(... And -all- of them are up the other end.)

@Zergling_man

Thanks, I have mentioned Mastodon, but thought I would ask if there was an alternative,.

Fingers crossed we can get people here eh :)

@zleap I don't believe there is, but there should be, a way to network, not a way to suck up. Oh and it should have a feature to help each other organize and unionize! though just having your name up there might associate you with unions so I may have to rethink that one. Perhaps there should be a clone of it that helps with unionizing and you can do it anonymously.
