@thekitmalone My one bit of How To-advice to a newcomer would be: follow hashtags and follow LOTS of people. When you join Mastodon, you walk into a café packed with people who are having lively conversations at many different tables. If you just go and sit in a corner by yourself without listening in on any conversations or nodding hello to anyone, then people won’t know you’re here. There’s no algorithm (and thank Odin for that) - you find and create your own community.
