@freemo It doesn't look like the per-post expiration made it, but a per-user setting did get merged https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/pull/16529.
I just noticed today that mstdn.social has it already.

@2ck Yea I pplan to add that soon
@2ck As long as the auto-delete function is one each user can decide for themselves if they want to turn on or not, I'd support it.
Would also be cool if you could set on a per-post basis whent he post expires
