Okay so if all the toots coming across are in a language I neither understand or don't have the inclination to learn do I want to "block" the sender, or "mute" them?

@Absinthe You are better off just filtering the language. Go into your preferences and then go to "other" there is a list of languages there. If you select one or more in the list then you will only see posts int hat language in federated and local timeline.

@freemo well, I will try that. blocking and muting seem so "aggressive" I hate to do it.

@Absinthe muting is less aggressive than blocking, you will still see their replies and if they mention you then you will still get notified. They just wont show up in your feed otherwise.

You can also mute notifications when you mute but that would be more aggressive.

Generally selecting a preferred languages is a good starting point though.

@freemo well I chose English, I can speak that one alright. :)
