"Microsoft's vscode(Visual Studio Code) source code is open source (MIT-licensed),
but the vscode you download is not open source."
what? I get confused.
@Acer it's a common practice to invest in a permissively licensed project and market an always-an-inch-ahead proprietary fork. It's called "open source" and a last resort for proprietary software to compete with copyleft.
@Acer It is said that Microsoft add some non-free components like Google's Chrome. You can use VSCodium instead.
