Unpaywalled #uspolitics article (link is long, in comments) about how this #Biden proposal aligns the interest of #labor and #immigrants , instead of allowing #exploitative businesses to pit them against each other by cultivating a disposable pool of black market humans to distort the #employment market and dispense with any need to provide #safe and #humane working conditions. But now:
@sambowne it’s articles like these that unfortunately bring home to me the difference between a scientist and just a fangirl. 😔 It took me three successively slower reads to process the gist of that, and I suspect I’m still missing some implications. Worth it, though!

I’ve never felt comfortable with #GasStoves ANYWAY because of all the fires they cause year after year and the potential for deadly gas leaks. But y’all do know that no one is coming to rip yours out, right? It was ONE interview with ONE official that was discussing a range (no pun intended) of possible options they were looking at to make future stoves safer, which at most may affect new sales. This is all so #stupid.
