@robinsonmeyer I don’t question why journalists and experts keep a Twitter account going— what upsets me is when they don’t cross-post, or only sporadically. That forces their entire audience to be tethered to Twitter to see them, locking us all into a self-fulfilling prophecy. If more of you that are content-providers would just take a minute to cut/paste, you free the rest of us to vote with our feet, while you still retain maximum exposure and leverage.

“My hot take on “15 minute cities” is if you can get to the coffee shop within fifteen minutes, but the barrista who makes your drink can’t afford to live closer than a half-hour away, then you live in a theme park.” - Gareth Klieber #cities #urbanism

"That picture wasn't of Trump swinging a bat at anyone. That was a photo of him showing off an American made bat." - Joe Tacopina, Donald's lawyer, on Trump's post of himself swinging a bat next to a photo of DA Alvin Bragg.

Ex-Amazon employees on the almost impressively cynical way Amazon smile started:

@britishtechguru @QasimRashid so your best plan is to wait an unknown number of generations, while meanwhile not exercising responsibility over what this uniquely immature and bloodthirsty people can get their hands on, regardless of the consequences? You really haven’t thought any of this through, huh.

This Chrome extension is very useful!!

Twitter now doesn't show whether accounts are verified or paid, but this plugin called Eight Dollars does.

Very useful in distinguishing a genuine account from the sad sap reply guys who paid for the blue check.

Hi! I'm Yasmin, a news editor @Flipboard. I'm based in the U.K., but I always have an eye on the news from both sides of the Atlantic.

I often find myself engrossed in topics like #ukraine #politics #tech and #history ...Did you know that Ulysses S. Grant was the first U.S. president to be arrested, that Black Tudors once existed, and one of Queen Victoria's associates, Catherine Duleep Singh, was dubbed the "Indian Schindler"?

#introduction

@britishtechguru @amoshiashwili @QasimRashid do… do you think no one mistreats each other in other countries? Do you think ostracization, mockery, snobbery, abuse, religious bigotry, ethnic tension, body shaming, sexual assault, pressure to perform, existential despair and so on are mostly US things? I’m curious a) why you think that might be and b) what exactly you think schools, workplaces, and other community centers around the world are like.

@britishtechguru @Galliformesguy is rage simply not much of a problem in the UK, or Argentina, or Greece, or Germany, or Australia, or Japan? Did everyone else figure out the secret to a wholesome harmony that skipped over one country in particular? Big if true! Maybe the US should simply ask any of these places that don’t have a mass shooting every week or two how they’re managing that.

@britishtechguru @QasimRashid where is your evidence of this happening on the scale of US mass shootings? Bringing up other countries is self-refuting, when you compare the gross difference in numbers. Do you think other countries don’t have bullies, mental illness, violent video games, secularized schools, absent parents, poor role models, or all the other proposed causes? Is it your contention that America simply has the worst, most damaged people around?

Hunter Biden would have to serve on the Burisma board for at least 5,000 years to earn the money Middle East governments have given to Kushner’s firm since Trump took office. of course had an official White House position, and worked on ME policy.
