Holy shit this is hilarious.
Apparently no matter how ridiculously corrupt and badly maintained you think the Russian army is, they always manage to be even more so.
I hope the people of Russia revolt against the war, for their own sake as much as for the Ukrainians'.

@Amikke Russian's overwhelmingly support the war in Ukraine. They've been flocking to recruitment offices to volunteer. The Russian Army is not the former Soviet Army. You seem to be easily manipulated by propaganda. Check out what former professional soldiers in the US Military are saying too. Might open your eyes to the propaganda you're exposed to.
@marathon0 are you sure that it's not you believing in Russian propaganda? All of emigration paths from Russia are congested for a reason, and "oh yeah people are totally flocking to recruitment offices to volunteer" is exactly the kind of bullshit Russian propaganda likes to broadcast.
I'm not sure what "former professional soldiers in the US military" are saying, but for the past 30 years everybody has been giving Russia the benefit of a doubt that they might actually be close to military value they claim to have, and the war in Ukraine is continuously showing how wrong that was – even people at the top of Russian command, Putin included, weren't aware just how bad things really are. The hardware fails them, the supply lines fail them, the command fails them, the morale fails them… Their goddamn flagship got sunk because based on the maintenance report mentioned in the video it was so badly maintained that it was barely functioning and all of its missile defenses were offline at the time of the attack.
The Russian Army is not the former Soviet Army, it's much worse. The whole world is getting disillusioned, Russian top brass included, and the attempt at mobilisation is the last ditch effort to save face. I hope it fails, because the alternative is tens if not hundreds of thousands of people being sent into the meat grinder "send more people than they have bullets" tactics they inherited from the soviets.
@marathon0 what do you even mean about MSM? And do your many sources perhaps have videos with yellow subtitles and suspiciously Russian accent?
@marathon0 I often doubt people on the Internet claiming to be professionals, yes. Especially if they seem to believe Russian propaganda while insisting it's the other person that's surely brainwashed by propaganda, and spout very vague arguments while declaring a whole lot of credentials that may be outright false, pointless or severely outdated. Double especially if they rant about mainstream media.
But OK, I'll bite, who do you think was fighting on Russian side until now? Totally not soldiers equipped with totally not Russian MBTs? Supported by totally not Russian air force and literal flagship named Moskva? Do you think Russia has a bunch of backup commanders that are better than those that led the war until now (and weren't used until now for whatever reason) and much better gear (that wasn't used until now for whatever reason)?
@Amikke Do some research grasshopper.
@marathon0 that's "I don't have good enough arguments to not make a fool of myself" in nut-speak. Not even a link to one of your "sources"?
@Amikke Don't be such a punk and wiseass. Read my feed, I'm not going to spoil you.
@marathon0 if I were to "research" the feed of everyone in Fediverse spouting pro-Russian bullshit I'd not only be there all day, but probably also acquire a big bundle of conspiracy theories since the people raving about NATO and MSM lies seem to have a suspiciously large overlap with conspiracy theorists. I'd rather not.
@Amikke
> @marathon0 what do you even mean about MSM? And do your many sources perhaps have videos with yellow subtitles and suspiciously Russian accent?
MSM == Main Stream Media! Don't be silly, do you often tell professionals in a particular genre that they're stupid? Whatever your talent is, it's not geopolitcs, so just stop please .You're brainwashed and have no idea what in the hell you're even talking about!
The shit you published in your 1st response is the talking points of NATO. Obviously they have a certain agenda to disseminate.
The Russian military hasn't been involved in the fighting on the front lines at all - They've been playing a supporting role as in artillery and air support. Any Russians involved have been special operations way behind the lines. Now, the real war is going to begin with regular Russian troops and hardware. The militias and volunteer regiments fighting are using old soviet equipment, and even with that and their inexperience have managed to take land.
As in the material I follow and analyse - both Russian and NATO related. I listen and follow the fellow experts and journalists, who have cred as in Pultizer's and reputation. They don't wish to spread misinformation as it affects their credibilty and pride.
If you want to believe nonsense, then so be it.
