@thor it's a minor pet peeve of mine when people connect clean shaved bodies with pedophilia. We're humans, our entire thing is not having hair besides the head, most people like the clean skin look of shaved face, armpits, legs and whatever else, why would the same not be true about naughty bits? Connecting preferring lack of hair there with pedophilia because children don't have them is like connecting preferring having hair there with zoophilia because animals have them.
@thor I've never had such a problem with mouse and I've been using mostly Linux as my daily driver for many years now. No idea what could've even happened, betting on a problem with the mouse. The audio card problem is more typical, but I'd expect Ubuntu to ship a kernel already compiled with a whole bunch of drivers for any hardware you might want on a desktop PC.
@thor that's very weird, most likely either something got messed up while changing desktop environments (something neither macOS nor windows even allow) or the problem is with the mouse and not OS-related.
@thor how did you achieve that? What distro even does that, badly configured Arch?
@thor yeah as far as I'm aware Varg is a worldwide meme that all but the most extreme anti-religion metalheads mostly joke about, at least when it comes to his actions outside of the music he created.
@thor honestly, blandness is a pretty good reason to do extreme things to counteract it. Though I too mostly bet on the dark and cold climate.
@CodingItWrong sure, but it's better than "can't do it lol", especially since often you want to search a post you already know of but didn't save it somehow or saw it somewhere else.
Also you can make an engine independent from a single instance that indexes all servers it can find, there was a project like that not long ago that got shut down because some people got pissy that they don't want their public posts to be public.
@CodingItWrong every server has a cache of all the posts it knows of, doesn't it? What's different about indexing them as opposed to if they originated from it?
@Oozenet @mpjgregoire@mamot.fr @tveastman that's the reality lol, acupuncture is pure placebo
@nom@noagendasocial.com @thor yeah, and His name is Sithrak the Blind Gibberer.
@thor a vehicle that takes you to the vague vicinity of your destination if you're lucky or somewhere along the way and to the side so you have to catch another one if you're not is called a bus. Not to mention all the loud and smelly people and occasionally not even being able to sit down. Mass transit is incomparable to self-driving cars.
@BrodieOnLinux yup, that's why an immediate long protest would've likely fizzled with too many communities not giving enough of a fuck to give up Reddit for who knows how long with who knows how much support from others. Now at least they know they're united.
@BrodieOnLinux the short duration made it easier to convince others to join the protest, otherwise there would be a lot of subs not joining. It showed that the community can unite, to both Reddit and redditors, and set up a situation where the threat of a longer protest / permanent exodus is very real to everyone. Pretty good move imo.
@katafrakt no wonder, any newcomers notice it has 3 independent wrong implementations of every feature and go looking for something else lol
@realcaseyrollins @thor I'd start with not giving cancer to little children.
@Zergling_man another point for Pleroma then.
