The benefits of the metric system for the general populace cannot be overstated. The ease of converting between different magnitudes of a unit so that instead of asking for 150 grams or 0.15 kilograms of ham you can ask for 15 deca(grams), or quickly converting between millimeters, centimeters, meters and kilometers so that you don't have to deal with fractions of an inch to go lower or multiply by bullshit arbitrary values to go from inches to feet, yards and miles to go higher (or measure in hundreds/thousands of feet lmfao) is just invaluable and saves a lot of time and effort over years of casual everyday use.
It's baffling that the US and partially the UK are still sticking with the medieval ways, and when I see the lengths people there have to go for simple conversions I feel blessed to have been born in Europe.

I'm still super into the "Proposed new standard year" from Reddit, 6 years ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/4cku47/proposed_new_standard_year/
That tactic was very successful, as evidenced by how my dog sitting right next to me at the time seemed to not even notice it.
Living is a big city is fun and very convenient, but it lacks the wild animals that are fun to encounter. So when I visit the rural village of my ancestors, I often end up getting excited over a random toad that happened to hop into view.
I don't know what species it is, but I did like how it stuck to the tactic of pretending to be a rock even after I got my phone right up in it's face, so here you go Fediverse, have a random Polish toad.
*Laughs in predictable outcomes.*
"Each of these uses of NFTs and other blockchain technologies creates digital ownership based on scarcity and exclusion, which does not align with Minecraft values of creative inclusion and playing together. NFTs are not inclusive of all our community and create a scenario of the haves and the have-nots."

Bruh, you literally bought Minecraft and injected a microtransaction platform that is entirely based on haves-and-have-nots.
It's been about a year since I switched to #NixOS and I must say it's the #Linux distro I've had the least problems with. Which says a lot considering I've also used Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Manjaro, all of which put more emphasis on being easy to use, besides a bunch of nerd shit like Arch, Gentoo and Exherbo.
My experience is that a distro is either easy to install and configure on a basic level but absolutely shits itself or presents many blockades when you attempt to veer off the beaten path (by installing a version of a package that is not outdated by 3 years, for example), like the former ones, or it's just painful for everything, basic or not, and actively discourages its use, like the latter ones.
NixOS is the exception, apart from the initial installation and configuration which require experience, all system management is reduced to changing a single well-designed config file and letting the nix modules do their thing.
And it works. Great distro, recommend, 9/10 (point substracted for occasionally inadequate documentation)
