Half of all new "hits" I hear on the radio are older famous songs with the vocals replaced by some wannabe pop star singing about dancing. If this is the state of the industry, then no wonder they're afraid of AI. It's literally more creative.

@VD15 it's not sleep mode. windows has removed shutdown.

In the control panel there's a setting called "Fast startup".

What it does is silently replace the Shutdown button with a Hibernate button. So every time someone "turns their computer off" for the day, they're actually just hibernating it. This is a thing they started doing in Windows 8. And it's on by default.

It's depressingly bad, because Windows is the one OS where regular reboots are definitely needed, but they decided that it's better for the user if the OS never actually stops.

I think I've finally realized that a weird thing about the terminal is that a lot of things just are not actually documented in any reasonable way? Like if you want to know more about `Ctrl+C` and you use `zsh` for example, the only official documentation I can really find is `man termios` or man stty

realistically in practice I think most people do not read "official documentation" for stuff like this, it's easier to rely on friendly coworkers / blog posts / stack overflow

i can tell I've been writing this terminal zine for too long because I just had the thought "oh, it might be fun to read `man bash`”
