Derek Chauvin (The murderer of ) has just officially been convicted of murder by the grand jury, finally justice!

@AmpBenzScientist Not possible, minimums entance is 12.5 years, maximum 40 years. so we know it will be within that range.

@AmpBenzScientist the minimum allowed in Minnesota is 2/3rds of the sentance in jail and 1/3rd parole/probation. So still going to be more than 5 years behind bars.

@AmpBenzScientist I dont think there is any choice in prison, its whatever serves the area as far as I know... But being a cop and one who is in for murder, I suspect he will be treated rather violently by inmates to the point he may need to serve most of his sentence in solitary confinement for his own protection.

@freemo the guards are probably going to treat him well. Cops can do no wrong. Occasionally a few are sacrificed to appease the masses but that's all that ever happens.

@AmpBenzScientist The guards will probably treat him well, but they can only do so much. Im not sure it will stop his ass from getting beat, but who knows, you could be right.

@freemo Nothing happened to the Agents who shot and killed women and children in the Branch Davidian incident.

@AmpBenzScientist A bit different considering they were killing minorities, and the branch davidian incident involved the police going up against actual armed individuals.. moreover the names of the police officers werent really as widely advertised as they were here.

@freemo They knew about all the weapons and that they were trying to take over a cult.

@freemo no one cares about the National Socialist Party Members who were slaughtered in cold blood by a vicious cult.

@freemo Apparently flares set houses on fire. Gun fire keeps people from fleeing. They caught a bullet or were burned alive at the hands of Freedom. If police have firearms, the public needs to be armed too.

@freemo Firearms are one of the few things that are fun to use safely and responsibly.

@freemo I wish you could just go to a military base there, say you are a doctor and get to train with full auto.

@AmpBenzScientist You could always invest in the stamp you need and go buy a full auto gun :)

@freemo Americans have revolved against stupid laws in the past. Legalize meth and full auto. It's not stopping anyone from having both anyway.

@freemo No thanks. I like my automatic weapons like I like my women, handled by everyone else and a high round count.

@freemo "Don't worry. I'm a doctor. Not medical or humanities. I do Rocket Science."

@freemo @AmpBenzScientist

You placed Floyd over Waco, you absolute fucking retard.

@dubh

I think its pretty clear that there was obviously that flowd was cold murder. At least with Waco there are arguments to be had for why force was used.

@AmpBenzScientist

@freemo

I'm just gonna leave you holding that one, I don't think I need to make an argument against such a ridiculous double standard. Jesus dude.

@dubh I never said I approved of them raiding waco. But considering the evidence of murder of minors its a way bigger grey area and that should be obvious to anyone with half a brain cell.

@freemo

That's cool. I don't need to do backflips to justify incinerating children while somehow criticizing them for neglecting to give cpr in the next breath, because I'm not a fucking idiot.
@freemo

> At least with Waco there are arguments to be had for why force was used.

I mean, there are arguments for it.

@dubh People who committed actual crimes, were accused of murder with evidence, and who used guns against police.. the police spent a VERY long time trying not to incite violence first (weeks), and the evidence suggests that the police werent the ones who started the fires.

So yes, there is an argument to be had that the police weren't nearly as guilty in this case, there is a plausible explanation that would exonerate them (presuming the official story is true)... in the case of Flyod there is no proposed explanation that would exonerate the police.

The fact that you think accused murderers who refuse to come peacefully and used weapons to fend off police is somehow more acceptable than an unarmed black man having a panic attack over claustrophobia yet being largely non-violent is kinda laughable.

@freemo

How many years were you a democrat? I just want to know how long I should expect what I say to sink in so I'm not spinning my wheels with you.

@dubh You havent actually made an attempt at an argument yet with which to sink in.

@freemo

All this ego for no reason. Don't worry, I'll help you.

@dubh Great, looking forward to you actually being helpful. Thanks.

@freemo

Smarmy reflexive defiant shit. Have you always been this way? A "gifted" child with nothing to remind you of how dumb you actually are?

@dubh Ohhh im smarmy, that sounds fun, yes I like that, ive always been smarmy. I have been throwing smarm around my whole life.

@freemo

Earnestly, I'm glad you can have some fun with it. It'll make the rest easier, and I've verbally abused you enough for tonight.

Maybe that very multi-tasking oriented brain of yours can figure out the contradiction between thinking police would murder someone in broad daylight and would lie about that, but wouldn't fabricate or exaggerate evidence to justify when a raid goes sideways and they burn children to death -- it's not that you took an indefensible position in an internet argument a month ago and doubled down today, it's just the rational - coherent position.

Waco was justified, arguably, no riots needed, and Floyd certainly wasn't an overdose. Anyway, I'll leave the last word for you now.

@dubh I never claimed they wouldnt lie about it, or that they were telling the truth. In fact I pointed out quite clearly that I do not necceseraly side with the police at Waco..

The thing is, If we take the events that happened at their word for floyd then Chauvin was still guilty as hell, even if everything they said went down exactly as claimed, guilty.

With waco its not so cut and dry. Sure we can speculate they lied, and could even be right. But we dont have the evidence to prove that happened. With waco there is actually a story (true or not) that would exonerate them that we cant disprove. Thats the big difference.

@dubh @freemo People die everyday. Do people start something over a comment made 89 days ago, everyday?

@AmpBenzScientist

Only when incrementally reminding Frelimo of his limitations, got another 2 years and 9 months to still sort through.
@AmpBenzScientist

Not at all, but I'm not going to rush to qualify myself through any authority other than the sense that I can make here. I leave the value judgement to the reader.

@freemo There's a theme here. It's the magician's slide of hand. Pay attention to the riots and the deaths, nothing else is happening.
