The #NeuroscienceMigration tag is looking like a useful way to find people. Hi!
Great to see the #NeuroscienceMigration really happening. hi, everyone!
@pierre_le_merre Welcome! I'm fairly new to the field and also mastodon so it's a fun time to network. I'll be at #SfN next week and can't wait!
Hi, I am a postdoc in Marie Carlén’s lab studying prefrontal networks of the mouse. Lets see how this whole #neurosciencemigration works but happy to be here!
@beth_morton 👋 Here!!
Looking for all the #migraine, #MigraineChat, #NEISvoid folks! Who is on here? #ChronicIllness #ChronicallyIll #Disabled #Disability
Love all the encouragement to create #accessible content, use #ContentWarnings, and follow community norms. Keep it coming!
It's still quite quiet here. I'm going to include some hashtags so I can find some people. I have #EDS #LongCovid, write about #disability and #theology. #ProgressiveChristian and I really like #Disney and #DisneyParks

#Introduction. I'm a theoretical neuroscientist at Columbia University. Primary focus on cerebral cortical circuits, both mature function and activity-dependent development (a form of learning). More general interest in intelligence & learning, e.g. neuro/AI interface, as well as long-term goal of understanding how cortex computes and analyzes and represents and learns. Also passionate about politics, and will post about that too -- coming from a belief in justice, freedom, everyone having a right to a secure and decent life and opportunities to develop and advance themselves, and in true democracy -- one person one voice, not one dollar one voice.
Hello SciMastodon! Let’s neuroscience! This is my first post here so I put one of my favorite brains in the pic. Can you name the species?
Please do let me know how to follow all you neuroscience folks (and related scientists) so I can get in the conversation — just toot your handle at me! Did I use the that term correctly? 🤷♂️
@mnrajah I'll be there! It'll be my first SfN conference, and my first in-person conference since 2018. I am presenting my poster in two sessions. I'm extremely excited!!
@PessoaBrain Yassss!
#Neuroscience is growing fast as we speak!
🧠 💪
Just in time for #SfN
Let's do #SfN here!
For those of us who came from Twitter: here, clicking "favorite" is different from clicking "like" in Twitter. It just tells the writer "yeah, nice", without enhancing visibility. The only way to enhance visibility is to "boost" (basically, retweet). I suspect all this will change (different clients will have different algorithms, etc) but for now this is how it is...
@MatteoCarandini And here I was, thinking it was a bookmark function at first. 🤦♂️ We all start somewhere with learning new things, I suppose.
@ava_nicole23 oh my gosh hi, I recognize you!
@toorsdenote @yuhline 👋 I too am neuro-spicy. Love the description in your bio. 😹
Hello! 👋🏽
I study the human brain and behavior. I love thinking about memory and perception and sharing papers on these topics.
I am also passionate about making academia a better place. The two most important things I have written:
My story of mental illness and the importance of mental health support: https://storiesinscience.org/2019/06/12/studying-and-experiencing-mental-illness/
My article on how faculty can make labs more supportive for their students: https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-018-06167-w
@ecmclaughlin That's wonderful!
Extremely stubborn MD/PhD student investigating pain and memory. I'm in my third year of a seven-year-long Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson pursuing my PhD in #neuroscience.

All posts are personal opinions and do not represent any specific institution I'm affiliated with, but the academic world would probably be way better if they did.
