Any other patch clampers here from the bird site yet? Brain slice & in vivo patcher here, plus some silicon probe recordings with opto 💡 🧠

@hasmis It was what made Mastodon so appealing to me. It is not a "Birdsite replacement", but so much more.

@Kalwat_Lab@mas.to @mikelove Exactly how I did it in Tusky: "copy link" in the menu at the bottom of the toot.

@Kalwat_Lab@mas.to @mikelove or simply tooting your "Hey, have a look at this" with a link to the thread?

@aidanhorner@fediscience.org I stumbled into stargazing due to being properly locked down ("do not leave your village") much of 2020 in a "dark village" at the edge of a dark sky reserve. The first thing I saw through the telescope was Jupiter and the Galilean Moons - I was hooked.

After spending a few weeks lurking, it's time for an .

I'm Christian, based in southwestern after fleeing the Brexit fallout in the . A by training, I spent a long time with research. Today I work for two small companies in the and fields.

I have been for over three decades, with a partcular passion for highperformance (still a beginner at sailing faster than the wind blows). Over a project (a is still work in progress) I discovered and now dabble in furniture making.

The meltdown of the Birdsite reminded me how much I miss - maybe Mastodon will be a good replacement?

@scerruti @gabipurcaru The warnings are not useful for that, as whole servers are missed (qoto.org for example). So they can be false negatives.

@merz Do you recall that the NYT T magazine cover story on Holmes was written by Andreessen’s wife?

Followgraph [followgraph.vercel.app/] for Mastodon suggests accounts to follow ranked by most-often-followed by accounts you follow. (Though, these are the accounts who might anyway get boosted into your feed.)

What (maybe?) surprised me is that many of the top people were mostly people at the center of dramas on Twitter. Reveling in the peace here, and not even having an algorithmic filter…no way was I going to follow them.

But, I scrolled at random, and found many other interesting people!

@tsawallis @julialang @rlmcelreath IM the Julia vs. Python debates boils down to the fundamental difference: Python was designed as easy, general-purpose language and solutions to science-related applications (e.g. NumPy) came second. Julia is from its very foundation designed (it's the key issue here) for science-related programming tasks. Therefore, I choose Julia as its more coherent for the task. Moreover, #julialang is the most natural language I've been programming in. Also. the "speed" :)

When some says "if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear", I always reply with, “that’s awesome! Here’s a pen and paper, write down your logins for you email, storage and social accounts. I’ll be visiting tonight..”

Immer. Außer freitags. :mastomask:

@JoachimGoedhart@mas.to Exciting! Thanks for sharing. My Christmas reading list is growing ☺️
