Speaking of fecundity, the #foxglove, native to Europe, was imported as an ornamental garden plant to Australia and in Tasmania's cool, well-watered climate, it has escaped into the wild and spread explosively—it lined many of the roads we drove through yesterday in a conflagration of colour. A showy environmental pest, the foxglove is also poisonous.
