Why is it when I look up a hashtag the results are different based on which instance I'm on?
Like, how can I see EVERYTHING?

@DavidBond because of the nature of decentralization.. A particular server only federates with servers which are known to it. Thus the search will only be from the universe you are in.
Thankfully QOTO has one of the highest peer counts of any server. So while our search still wont be 100% (some servers might block us for example), it is going to have one of the more complete searches.
@freemo are there a list of like, super bad instances? Id love to take a look.

@DavidBond there are shared block lists that sort of cover that... but I find most shared block lists become fairly liberal on who they add. So not sure of one that is exclusive to "the worst of the worst"
@DavidBond As do I, which is why QOTO has a policy of not blocking other servers and only silencing in extreme situations. Sadly most other instances dont feel the same.
