@Phaedrus after COVID, the reasoning for this should be clear. Imagine a virus just as infective as COVID but with 10-50x lethality. Such a disease would absolutely cripple the entire globe and require a worldwide lockdown. This would cripple the economy and make the likelihood of governmental instability almost assured.
@Demosthenes @Phaedrus Covid is still going on and the response is still terrible. What's the move now? Give even more money for counter-bio-terrorism programs 15 years after they got more money and failed? This corona virus might've been created as a bio-weapon but people are more concerned about whether it's racist to call it a chinese virus than the implications it was made in a lab in Wuhan.
