@Dawnz
Literally giving people money because of the color of their skin...

@cubicgarden
Makes sense given that there are good arguments for both sides on why it was and wasn't self-defense.

@Shiroyasha
We'll see. I thought I would too, but now with the media contortion of the Kyle Rittenhouse tragedy and the possibility that there might not be a debate has taken the wind out of my "Biden" sails...

@Orakel
Wishing the ruination of someone's life due to someone's appearance... How progressive.

@DrChris
That makes sense. Thank you for the clarification!

@DrChris
I will look for one this evening.

I'd be interested in the study you have between masks and communism, btw.

@DrChris
That's an appeal to authority fallacy. The fact that you at one time completed your doctorate does not mean that you make flawless, perfectly logical arguments at all times.

@DrChris
Science is formed by using logic to make a hypothesis, then testing that. Logic also drives looking at and finding research. Discounting logic in the scientific process does everyone a disservice.
As for the masks... Almost all countries are implementing masking protocols, including authoritarian regimes. Blaming communism for it is just scientifically unrigerous conjecture.

@DrChris
"The "logic" is sound on communism working, but it never does."

You had me up until this point, then you lost me. What are you saying here?

@georgia
It _is_ fine to say that in your license, but it will significantly limit the number of users that use your code since most companies can't use nonstandard licenses due to legal compliance costs.

@DrChris
I'm not where I can do that right now, but you know the logic is sound. If you are in a position to look for one, you might do so

@11112011
I roll and flail randomly in my sleep. My wife just tries to keep me contained to my half of the bed somewhere (it doesn't work all the time).

@DrChris
Comparing masked vs not-masked counties is not a fair comparison. Big cities were more likely to be compliant than small ones. Big, dense city = more frequent transmission, even with masking.

@DrChris
Do you wash your hands after taking a shit? Is that "social conditioning" in a socialist society?
We know how this virus works. Areas that have good mask compliance have significantly lower rates of COVID than areas with poor compliance.

@Fenix
The right said the same thing about Obama, but they survived. Not that they're equal... Trump's kind of a giant retarded carrot... But you get my point.

@emsenn
Social affirmation is not a good indication of whether something is true. KKK members in the 50's were able to find people that agreed with them, but their thoughts and actions were vile.

I'd say your positive feedback of "tech bros" is a good example of that too, though that's off topic a bit..

@dchiker
It's not so black-and-white. We only have a choice to vote between a giant old carrot and a sleepy old man. Having no good choice year after year, decade after decade while political issues go unaddressed makes people unhappy with the government.

@stolas@elekk.xyz
It may be an imperfect place, but it is worth it to try.
I'm new to the fediverse, and the number of conversations I've had with people who think differently from me has been massive compared to where I was before. Even though trolling and griefing may be more frequent, there is also a benefit to the exposure to people different from ourselves(in my opinion at least).
