We have a president who just called on the cessation of counting more votes after an election. That's nuts

@commandlinekid that would happen because of extreme partisanship. The politicians are worrying more about winning and defeating their opponent than doing what's best for America.
The rights turning fascist. The lefts turning communist. And everyone's becoming more politically extreme and isolated.

@commandlinekid the other side thinks the same of their political opponent. Extreme partisanship and the inability to compromise is what's going to tear us apart, not one side or the other.

@Movietime_Blues no, there's no incentive for the elites to push for one. A war is fundamentally destabilizing to current power structures, which they wouldn't benefit from.

@Samsai it's a fundamental issue of our two-party system caused by our first-past-the-post voting system. When combined with the gaming of the political system and media consolidation, greater partisanship is the result.
There's no viable pathway for correcting this through the current system. Even if something doesn't happen in this election, things will eventually happen.

This is the most dangerous election outcome: a narrow Trump lead. Regardless of if you are for or against him, you should recognize that the shit is hitting the fan.
If you read this and don't have food and water on hand, get some. There will likely be some regions that will face havoc.

@Admin we'll see. The flu is a coronavirus and we've had trouble getting rid of it. It'll depend on the mutation rate of the virus and a lot of other stuff

@Trickster@social.quodverum.com the fact that a poll worker had the capacity to do that without oversight is surprising. They need to redesign their systems to be more resistant to this kind of thing.
