OK, :fediverse: #Fediverse hive-mind. I'm working on #TwitterMigration research on higher reach individuals on Twitter that have already migrated to the Fediverse, and have not left #Twitter... at least not yet.

Am looking for accounts on Twitter that have about 500K followers and higher and are also here.

▶️ Am I missing any accounts?

Boost this around to help share it, want to make this as complete as I can. Thanks

@south_lib This is what I found. Cell theory would be one of those things we couldn't teach kids.

@Kitchi Link to the bill: leg.mt.gov/bills/2023/billhtml

The (IMHO) critical part of the bill:

"a scientific fact is observable and repeatable, and if it does not meet these criteria, it is a theory that is defined as speculation and is for higher education to explore, debate, and test to ultimately reach a scientific conclusion of fact or fiction."

If a concept is considered a "theory," it can't be taught in public schools.

@akatonyab I've bookmarked this in case Rudy Gargoyle gets indicted

@ProPublica I mis-read the headline because it was missing the $ sign and thought (with wonder and hope) that they were saving millions of people! I'm usually not an optimist (but maybe I need an opthamologist)

A Utah parent says the Bible contains porn and should be removed from school libraries. Here’s their full challenge. The parent writes that the book should be considered indecent under Utah’s new book banning law, after seeing the other titles that have been pulled.

“Incest, onanism, bestiality, prostitution, genital mutilation, fellatio, dildos, rape, and even infanticide,” the parent wrote in their request, listing topics they found concerning in the religious text. “You’ll no doubt find that the Bible, under Utah Code Ann. § 76-10-1227, has ‘no serious values for minors’ because it’s pornographic by our new definition.” sltrib.com/news/education/2023

These are the chronicles of an alchemist potter.

They're continuing work

@erininthemorn The first days this was up, there were about 2600 calls. 6 complaints are to be investigated. Good use of resources, I'd say

@hasmis Rural Arizona. They built the school in a flood plain.

Sorry, a bit of a rant (okay, more than a bit)

My is 6 years old. My team has had a major leak in the ceiling all year. A falling ceiling tile almost hit a student, and she currently has 12 buckets catching water. She has to come in on the weekends to empty them.

We've had a lot of rain this week, and the problem is now endemic in the hallway. All the exterior rooms either have leaking roofs, water seeping up from the floor, or water coming in at the windows. It has gotten so bad that every exterior classroom has to be moved so Maintenance can start ripping out carpet, drywall, and ceilings.

A 6 year old building that has settled so much that a hunk of it is unusable. They are going to have to re-do the soil engineering, put on a new roof (this time, not totally flat), and rebuild the interior. It's so bad that the State cut a check overnight to start the process of rebuilding. That is unheard of, even though it is WAAAAYYYY less than the probably $3-4 million the restoration is going to cost.

And I have to buy my own copy paper ...

Tons of names in my phone are "Kenny Landlord" or "Mike Electric" or "Pete Do Not Answer" and just realized this is how anglo surnames have always worked

Six Oath Keepers convicted in connection with January 6 US Capitol riot

I think that this is critically important to the rule of law. We need to keep convicting these insurrectionists. #Jan6th
