How can anyone know if those images are not simply photoshopped if no references are provided?

Going by the language used.

"Anti" means opposed to or against.

So people that are not anti-fascism are....?

Although, if you do, I'd advise you to copy and paste all the "following" addresses & regularly download the "follows" data - in case the instance you are on goes offline or suspends your account.

FWIW, you can collect an online community of the people you're interested in regardless of which instance they're on! Your tags are a good start

@MisterMadge

Climate journalism is a very broad term and in many examples is based on business as usual.

For example, at best, reporting some of the science accurately ("cherry picking" information), at worst also reporting greenwash or business-as-usual "solutions" that increase ecological degradation (e.g., promoting the idealogy that business-as-usual consumerism can be sustained by buying billions of electric EV's)

@otakup0pe

What do you think I'm writing about?

It's a problem when instances can go offline without warning or admins can suspend accounts without warning.

At the moment - I advise people to make copies of their "followers" list (e.g., copy-paste the address into a database) and regularly download the follows data.

@vruz

Idiots are not aware they're idiots!

To comprehend that you are ignorant about something takes humility. Idiots lack humility.

"It’s Not Too Late to Change the World"

The "world" (biosphere) will change human society. That's evident. Climate change is already mitigating humanity.

But yes, it would be prudent if more people were willing & able to mitigate human-caused climate change.

Empiricism boosted

The graph shows that greenhouse gas emissions are rising (a trend). This trend also infers the general trends of human behaviors.

Therefore, it's rational to forecast that humanity, or business, politics, and lifestyles as usual, will not mitigate climate change (in general).

As mitigates humanity, and more positive reinforcers come into effect, how long will mono-industrial consumerist societies be able to function?

During this period (present & future) of escalating climate change-related disruption, what forms of culture will emerge?

That makes sense. A €100 fine is not much of a deterrent if your a millionaire +

Greetings! I recently moved instance so here is a new

On Social media, I go under the pseudonym of “Empiricism”.

Empiricism aims (intention or agenda) are to promote (“toot”, “boost”, etc) accurate based information. The general theme of this account is related to promoting development. development requires mitigating ecological degradation therefore also (e.g., reducing greenhouse gas emissions).

This account will not “sugar-coat” the challenges that humanity will have to overcome if climate change is to be mitigated. For example, the general trend (historic, present & future) is that humanity is not mitigating change (e.g., greenhouse gas emissions are rising), therefore, climate change is mitigating humanity (e.g., increases in the frequency & intensity of flooding, droughts, etc.)

Since no one can be informed of all the scientific literature, if a reader thinks that Empiricism makes a statement that is not backed up by the general scientific literature, please refer Empiricism to the relevant peer-reviewed science publication (e.g., paper or website)

@MisterMadge

I am considering mastodon.green. However, the instance does not meet the criteria for "A community of evidence-based thinkers"

From the instances, I've seen. there are those that are generally "science", for example, fediscience.org, and there are climate activist instances.

I have not seen one that is a combination of both.

@MisterMadge

I had an account (suspended) on the activist instance Climatejustice Social. Whilst the general theme (toots in general) is climate-related news and activism, many of the posts I read were from folks who expressed obvious signs of scientific illiteracy (that also means they were not always interested or even objected to the evidence that didn't align with their personal beliefs or agendas)

What is the best for scientifically literal people who are also activists? People that are aware that the climate crisis is happening, location dependent, and care enough to be motivated to speak out against the business-as-usual craziness of societies.

A community of evidence-based thinkers (informed) that do not simply "cherry pick" whatever "science" aligns with their personal agendas - therefore do not habitually deny and are not ignorant about the science that they don't personally "like" (the idea of)
