The wiki page describes neoliberalism. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoliber

Generally the term "liberal" relates to the economic agenda, not ethical values.

For example, right-wing libertarianism.

Does this sentence on the wiki page sound familiar "neoliberalism would establish an elite structure of successful individuals that would assume power in society, with these elites replacing the existing representative democracy acting on the behalf of the majority".

This podcast may disturb, make certain people angry & cause denial. However, that's because it strikes a "nerve" (is true in many social contexts)

Power companies quietly pushed $215m into US politics via dark money groups

Such secretive donations to barely regulated non-profit groups have helped utilities increase electricity prices, hinder solar schemes and helped elect sympathetic legislators in recent years.

In contrast to the corporate narratives "the ecovillage movement proposes a feasible whole system design toward sustainable ways of living.... Therefore, grassroots initiatives are increasingly receiving attention from the international scientific community, although they are still being neglected by public policies..." doi.org/10.1007/s44168-022-000

The right time to act to mitigate was decades ago. However, there is always time to make a better choice.

I have written an easy-to-follow guidance on how I want to live in a sustainable culture. This is what I want qoto.org/@Empiricism_Reloaded/

You're conflating (imprinting) your own agenda with mine. I realize that many are not motivated to reduce their own greenhouse gas emitting activities.

To quote "The theory of by natural selection is the unifying paradigm of and indeed of all the life sciences – it explains and integrates a huge diversity of known findings and predicts an astonishing number of new ones (Alcock 2009; Coyne 2009). It has been famously suggested that nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of
evolution (Dobzhansky 1973)

The clickbait article title may attract the attention of readers and inform them about evolutionary biology....so

"Most biologists state unequivocally that the egg came first. At their most basic level, eggs are just female sex cells." livescience.com/which-came-fir

This is a great article for an intro to evolutionary biology. The Thirteen Misunderstandings

@WarnerCrocker

There isn't a "riddle" in the science of evolutionary biology.

The "chicken and egg riddle" is folk .

The egg is the chicken and the chicken is the egg. It's merely a different stage of development.

Historically, evolution is the outcome of gradual changes over vast time scales.

I didn't read the article because of the misleading title.

My biggest problem with #capitalism is that it forces everyone's to make money as their primary objective.

Not to provide valuable services for society.
Not to make sure that people don't suffer.
Not to preserve our environment.

All these things are just optional side effects to the main objective of making money, and will be easily discarded if doing the opposite turns out to be more lucrative.

Which city is an undersung overachiever when it comes to public transit?

Hint: it's got 30 tram lines, 423 kms of tracks, serving more than 1,071 stops.
43 daytime bus routes, 23 nighttime bus routes, 10 regional rail lines, 181 stations.
And, if you're a resident with an annual pass, €1 a day to ride.

Seriously though, any psychological diagnosis is comparing an individual's behaviors to a perceived "normal".

It's quite common ("Normal") for people to not study ecology or climatology and yet to have very strong politically motivated opinions about these subjects.

It's quite normal to see adults sitting around campfires inhaling smoke pollution.

"normal" isn't better than!
