I don’t speak Hungarian, so I have zero exposure to their media reporting. What bugs me the last couple of years is why there’s such an affinity between current political elites (and by extension the majority of people who vote for them) to Russia. Given what happened in 1956 one would expect an effect similar to Poland, Czechia or Slovakia (to a lesser extent) with a relatively significant opposition to Russian military escapades. Not so much in Hungary. Why?
Did Hungarians forget about all that period between 1956-1989? (would be somewhat odd, because they are still very much obsessed with Trianon, which is a 100+ years old wound - perhaps a selective memory kicks in, or something)
Any solid foreign policy analysis of that?

Perhaps just to clarify the intentions of pillaging, king of the hill, grabbing, etc etc might seem simple indeed is sometimes in action imaging those words but the actual preparing and doing is one big incrementally optimised mess of puzzle piece making and chess matches increasingly more complicated and intertwined as time has gone on with elements of warfare very much the same as before... but more layers and layer on top of all the brutality or that which comes out once in a while somewhere else since it was just displaced letting other countries or regions take the hits from bullies squabbling over oil fields, land, territory. resources YAWN !
YES SIMPLE IN SOME WAY IF THAT HELPS YOU AND YOU CAN'T IMAGINE THE IN-BETWEEN GAMES...
And if you assumed I thought people had no agency then you're not quite right there either. Oh dear.
Anyway just for clarity on these two points
- I think it is measurable and already proven what people are doing and why... even from less obvious war on /with /using media, voting, invasions, ,pre wars, more policies, trade agreements...
- And agency and many other things ARE there (and they have my sentiments also for such topics) BUT unfortunately that's little compared with GOVERNMENTS AND BANKS. Love you 'agency' line maybe you could explain that as it's a side point often as boot on the opponents faces (there ways work MUCH better MORE often) so often just 'too big to ignore' where financial institutions and gov's rule life (in fact give life)

It's hard to see perhaps but all those decisions were/are almost all based on those archaic dynamics of soil invasion and energy / money from the people.
Anyway ,aybe you could tell me about the 'agency' you were thinking of... and I can learn something... as billions of us are sitting here hoping for a something but unable to break a a lot of this attachment theory I mentioned before that we're locked into (thanks to x3 population since 60's) which leverages why we help such factions (not a precise word but like it here)
the fact we're attached and needing to do /eat from bad hand IS the very problem as they just mess whatever they want with TAX MONEY from all our trying). Clever.
I suggest if you're one of these short sentence people TLDR's you $it back down and take a hard look at just what you've seen vs. agency... $how me what you got in terms of sense how it's not these oh-so-many things or how you see it (of course probably avoiding these massive things).
If you're a sentimental person I'm with you but I can't lie and have to be realistic. They have control....
And yes AGAIN I still appreciate you if you don't personally want to $ee money rul£ but this about the actual state of game / games and well there is a reason $ and such is still world currency and they are calling the shots. It was made that way with very little outs.

The lifelines(money) to life and then ALL the decisions. And this includes what isn't given as money DIES / STARVES / has least resources / people behind it! Sure should a few days- but home and pay your fucking rent fool!
Have all the agency you want but not often does it work out or people know what that even is LOL (yes more training needed)

(hope that's enough for some reasoning behind it all !)...
(it means bought / given incentives to do / chasing the money / economic interests and status etc ...but admit not much more in depth for this exact context and I don't dare too ...
My assumptions are that some things we'll never know as we were not there in time and can't be 100% about it... but history and generally gangsters everywhere (and their patterns) tend to keep it bang bang simple and it's generally consistent to that throughout much of everyone's history (when all the soft war doesn't work internally or externally).
