Very interesting read so far. I've got close to 40 years to catch up on electronics! Thank you @oskay for this book.
A couple of random notes from my work notebook (#2 is net/sysadmin/programmer specific):
1) The initial report is always wrong.
2) The problem might not be name resolution, but it's a good place to look first.
3) There's nothing more permanent that a "temporary" solution.
4) Grownups don't like surprises, even if it is their birthday. Don't
surprise your boss.
5) There's nothing like having a process, even if it's just so you know what you're deviating from.
#introduction I'm a single dad (widower) blessed with a lot of support. I'm a grizzled computer programmer (some days more grizzled than others). I'm a volunteer EMT and for me it's the greatest job I'll never get paid for. I'm a veteran and my thoughts about that are complicated. Temperamentally I consider myself to be an extroverted introvert.
