Ok, this is cool: a team of biologists worked out that turtles can talk. The hatchlings even talk to each other in the egg to coordinate their hatching. Turtle talk is at frequencies not very audible for humans and it can take hours for some species to reply to each other.

“Had we had a bit more expansive imaginations, we might have caught this earlier,” said Karen Bakker, a fellow at Harvard’s Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study.

When I worked at #ICANN years ago there were these great pictures of early networking and Internet typologies on the wall at the main office.

You could no longer get them from the publisher, so I took pictures! Here they are in the order referred to in the final two pictures [1/2]:

Me: You do understand what an Emergency Power Off is for, correct?
Them: But it could damage my system.
Me: If this button is getting pressed, your system is already gone from either fire or the sprinklers going off. This is so someone can save *YOU* in an *EMERGENCY*.

@jeffjarvis @Jbat Willingness to ask stupid questions is my superpower. It got me through four years of college with just an eighth-grade education. It took me from wondering "Why do we say, 'This is she' instead of 'This is her'?" to penning five books on grammar and writing craft.
